Pasture Bristol is where it all began. The birthplace of Fire, Meat, Music and the beating heart of everything we stand for. With its character-rich setting, flagstone floors, sweeping staircase, and open kitchen filled with the sizzle of live-fire cooking, this is more than just a restaurant — it’s a celebration of craft, quality, and connection.
From day one, we've stayed true to our roots. We source only the very best suckled native beef from farms across the southwest, all grass-fed and raised with care. Our in-house butchers dry-age every cut for a minimum of 35 days and prepare each steak fresh for service. It’s a level of detail that shows in every dish and defines who we are.
Behind the food is a passionate, tight-knit team, warm, welcoming, and dedicated to delivering unforgettable dining experiences night after night. Whether you're stepping into the kitchen, joining the front-of-house, or leading service from the floor, Pasture Bristol offers the chance to be part of something truly special — the original flame that started it all.
As Sous Chef, you’re a solid support for the senior chefs, but a leader in your own right. You’ll be trusted to run services, manage the team, and take real ownership when the Head Chef is off. You’ll lead from the front, calm, clear, and hands-on, helping the team stay sharp, focused, and full of pride in their work.
This is a role for someone who genuinely cares about people, someone who brings a team together, supports growth, and creates a positive, professional culture on every shift. You’ll coach junior chefs, pass on knowledge, and give feedback that actually helps. Because you know that great kitchens run on great teams.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading busy services with control, energy, and a clear head
- Setting the tone and pace for the team, always leading from the front
- Supporting the Head Chef with kitchen operations, standards, and structure
- Coaching, developing, and motivating junior chefs daily
- Managing sections, prep, cleanliness, and quality across the kitchen
- Taking ownership when the Head Chef is off, running the kitchen with confidence
- Working closely with FOH to deliver a smooth, high-energy guest experience
- Helping to drive creativity, consistency, and pride across every plate
You’re not just a great cook, you’re a great teammate and a natural leader. You know how to lift people up, keep things running tight, and handle pressure without losing control. You’ve got strong technical skills, high standards, and a real drive to help the people around you succeed. You’re organised, focused, and genuinely love the energy of a well-run service. You don’t cut corners, and you lead by doing things right. If that sounds like you, we want to meet.
