Pasture Bristol is where it all began. The birthplace of Fire, Meat, Music and the beating heart of everything we stand for. With its character-rich setting, flagstone floors, sweeping staircase, and open kitchen filled with the sizzle of live-fire cooking, this is more than just a restaurant — it’s a celebration of craft, quality, and connection.

We source only the very best suckled native beef from farms across the southwest, all grass-fed and raised with care. Our in-house butchers dry-age every cut for a minimum of 35 days and prepare each steak fresh for service. It’s a level of detail that shows in every dish and defines who we are.

Behind the food is a passionate, tight-knit team, warm, welcoming, and dedicated to delivering unforgettable dining experiences night after night.

We’re on the lookout for a confident, welcoming, and highly organised Host to join the Front of House team at Pasture, a high-energy, fire-led restaurant known for bold flavours, incredible local produce, and genuine hospitality.

As our Door Host, you’ll be the face of the restaurant, the first person guests see when they arrive, and the one who sets the tone for their entire experience. This is a vital role that combines warmth, professionalism, and razor-sharp coordination. Whether it’s greeting a couple out for a special celebration, managing a wave of walk-ins on a busy Saturday, or juggling last-minute booking changes, you’ll be calm under pressure and always one step ahead.

About the Role

We’re looking for someone who ideally has experience working in restaurant reservations, reception, or guest bookings. Familiarity with SevenRooms (or similar reservation systems) is a huge plus, and you’ll need to be comfortable using email, managing digital waitlists, and updating bookings on the fly. But more than that, we want someone with real people skills—warm, clear, confident, and genuinely good with guests.

You’ll be the go-to person for creating a smooth flow at the front door—managing pacing, communicating wait times clearly, handling walk-ins and VIP bookings, and keeping the service team updated in real time. It’s a role that requires both heart and hustle.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Greeting every guest with warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Managing walk-ins, bookings, waitlists, and table turns with confidence and clarity
  • Using SevenRooms (or similar systems) to manage bookings, notes, and guest preferences
  • Communicating constantly with the floor team to maintain smooth pacing and maximise covers
  • Handling phone and email enquiries with a helpful, guest-first attitude
  • Being proactive and calm in high-pressure situations, finding solutions and keeping things moving
  • Ensuring that every guest feels seen, valued, and excited to be with us

You

You’re confident, friendly, and always in control, even when the Bar is buzzing. You’ve got a warm and approachable style, love working with people, and naturally make others feel comfortable and looked after. Organisation is your thing, and you thrive in a role that requires sharp timing, great communication, and a problem-solving mindset. Whether you're welcoming regulars or helping a walk-in get seated, you bring energy, professionalism, and heart to every shift.

Benefits at Pasture:

  • The hourly rate shown includes a competitive share of Tronc: 100% of Tronc is distributed to the staff.
  • 28 days holiday - including bank holidays
  • 20% off food and drink in our restaurants for up to six people
  • Opportunity for growth and progression
  • Long service benefits
  • 1 day of paid volunteering per year, with a charity of your choice
  • Regular staff trips are arranged to our farm and to our suppliers
  • Employee assistance program provided by Hospitality Action
  • Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Pay
  • Wagestream
  • Company events and parties

In a nutshell, Pasture is about fine dining for everyone, with slick, engaging service, top-quality food and a team whose knowledge is as strong as its passion.
