Join the Team at Pasture Birmingham. At the heart of the city on 15 Colmore Row, Pasture Birmingham is where fire, meat, and music come together in bold celebration. It’s more than just a steakhouse — it’s a lively, open kitchen experience where craft meets community, and every service feels like a special occasion.

As the latest addition to the Pasture family, Birmingham carries forward the legacy of our Cardiff and Bristol restaurants — with in-house butchery, grass-fed beef from trusted local farms, and a deep commitment to quality, sustainability, and flavour. Our open-fire cooking and vibrant soundtrack create a dining atmosphere that’s as dynamic as it is welcoming.

We’re building a team of people who are as passionate about hospitality as they are about great food and memorable experiences. Whether you're on the floor, behind the bar, or at the pass — if you’ve got the energy, drive, and personality to match our fire, we want to hear from you.

Be part of something exceptional. Be part of Pasture Birmingham. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our hardworking and supportive kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the start of their culinary career who is eager to learn, grow, and be part of a restaurant that celebrates quality and creativity.

At our restaurant, we work in a fast-paced, energetic environment with a strong focus on using the best local ingredients, much of it cooked over fire using traditional charcoal and wood methods. Our team is proud of the experience we offer, whether it’s a casual lunch, an important business meeting, or a memorable evening with friends and family.

What You'll Be Doing: As a Commis Chef, you’ll play a vital supporting role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You’ll be working with top-quality ingredients, helping to prep, cook, and plate dishes to the highest standards during busy services. With guidance from our experienced chefs, you’ll have the opportunity to build your skills across a variety of cooking techniques, understand how a professional kitchen operates, and gain exposure to butchery, wood-fired cooking, and modern plating. This is more than just a stepping-stone, it's a chance to contribute to a creative and ambitious team, input on seasonal menus, and grow into future chef roles within our company.

About You:

  • Passionate about food and eager to build a career in a professional kitchen
  • Reliable, hardworking, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Takes pride in quality and attention to detail, no matter the task
  • Willing to learn and take feedback, with a positive and respectful attitude
  • Maintains high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene
  • A strong team player who brings energy and enthusiasm to every shift

  • 28 days holiday - including bank holidays
  • 20% off food and drink in our restaurants for up to six people
  • Opportunity for growth and progression
  • Long service benefits
  • 1 day of paid volunteering per year, with a charity of your choice
  • Regular staff trips are arranged to our farm and to our suppliers
  • Employee assistance program provided by Hospitality Action
  • Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Pay
