Overview
We are seeking a passionate and organised Dog Grooming Technician to join our Dog Grooming provision at Easton College on a fixed‑term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a practical learning environment, supporting both students and customers while ensuring the smooth operation of our commercial grooming salon.
Responsibilities
- Day‑to‑day running of the salon, managing customer bookings and enquiries.
- Maintaining records and payment systems.
- Sourcing suitable dogs to meet curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Ensuring the salon operates to the highest standards of animal welfare, hygiene, health and safety.
- Supporting students during practical sessions and maintaining equipment and stock levels.
- Delivering commercial grooming services during non‑teaching periods.
- Contributing to marketing, recruitment events and community engagement activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Industry experience in dog grooming.
- Excellent customer service and organisational skills.
- Genuine commitment to supporting learners and promoting high standards of animal care.
- Experience within an educational environment is beneficial but not essential.
Requirements
All new appointed employees are required to complete an enhanced DBS Check and register with the DBS Update Service. From 28 November 2020, the government implemented changes to the filtering rules; therefore, a new DBS Check must be completed for certificates issued before this date.
