We’re seeking a passionate Physiotherapist to join our new, multidisciplinary Chronic Pain service. You’ll play a key role, providing specialist physiotherapy input into the assessment and treatment of people with chronic pain. This role involves direct clinical care, multidisciplinary teamworking, service development, and quality improvement activities, helping to shape the service and champion biopsychosocial care across our service. You will be part of a supportive clinical culture and will receive regular supervision, have access to peer learning and close collaboration with the founders and leading Consultants in Pain Medicine. We are open to discussing the working arrangement and compensation based on your experience and circumstances.

Main duties of the job

  • Formulate and implement evidence-based interventions for individuals and groups, focusing on rebuilding functional capacity, reducing fear-avoidance, and safely increasing movement.
  • Deliver in-person and remote care across multiple pathways, including 1:1 treatment plans and group Pain Management Programmes (PMP).
  • Apply robust clinical reasoning and advanced knowledge of anatomy, pain science, and the biopsychosocial model to design high-impact, short-term care plans.
  • Share physiotherapy insights and guidance with MDT colleagues, contributing to holistic care planning and risk management.
  • Support service quality through involvement in audit, governance, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with primary, community, and tertiary care teams to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Stay up to date with research and best practice in the management of chronic pain.
  • Contribute to the development of our psychologically informed clinical pathways, pain management programme, patient education content, and webinars.

Person Specification

Experience

  • Experience working within long-term conditions or complex physical health settings.
  • Experience managing chronic pain using a biopsychosocial framework and applying psychologically-informed approaches (e.g., ACT, CBT principles) for people with persistent pain.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Skilled in communicating complex, sensitive information to patients and colleagues.
  • Commitment to inclusive, person-centred care.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Experience working at a specialist level within pain.
  • Familiarity with digital service delivery or virtual group facilitation.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Current registration with HCPC as a Physiotherapist.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
