Our Kitchen Assistants/Team Members are responsible for preparing our food offering to the highest quality and standards.
Department: Takeaway | Location: Cloud Kitchen - Newcastle | Compensation: £12.21 - £13.00 / hour
Opening hours: From 10.00am to 2.00am, Monday to Sunday.
What you’ll do at Pasta Evangelists:
- Ensure the kitchen is set up and ready for each service with the right amount of prepared Pasta Sauces and other ingredients.
- Wear a full smart clean uniform to the brand standard at all times whilst on shift and protective clothing as required.
- Adhere to the full Pasta Evangelists Standard to ensure our Pasta and other Products are kept to the highest possible standard.
- Maintain an exceptionally clean kitchen that complies with all Health and Safety / Quality and Safety regulations.
- Monitor Availability and inform the Team leaders and wider team in advance.
- Document and keep a record of information on food as appropriate to company policy and effective date labelling.
- Ensure stock rotation principles (FIFO) are fully adhered to.
- Record any food wastage accurately.
- Utilise the SOP to maximise the quality and speed of food readiness.
- Keep temperature records for all equipment and follow correct procedures for safe food handling.
- Maintain all equipment to the SOP standard.
- Prepare and cook food to the highest standards according to "How to Cards".
- Check deliveries into the Store and report any issues to the Team Leader/Manager.
- Operate the wash-up area effectively, ensuring thorough cleaning of any equipment used.
- Use correct signage while cleaning is taking place.
- Dispose of rubbish correctly, following company waste management processes.
- Report any equipment defects quickly to Team leader or Area Manager.
- Follow all close-down kitchen procedures to ensure the kitchen is clean and prepared for the next shift.
- Organise pest checks regularly and report any concerns to the Team leader and higher management.
Who are you:
- You have knowledge of safe food handling, storage, and preparation techniques.
- You are familiar with basic culinary techniques such as chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring ingredients.
- You can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively.
- You are meticulous and detail-oriented regarding food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen organisation.
- You can work well as part of a team, communicate effectively with colleagues, and follow instructions from the Team Leader and/or Area Manager.
- You are willing to adapt to changing situations, work schedules, and tasks as required in a dynamic kitchen environment.
