About the Role: We’re looking for an Operations Specialist - UK Outbound to help build, strengthen, and scale our UK outbound parcel operation. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes being close to the operation, spotting issues before they become bigger problems, and working directly with partners to improve performance. You’ll serve as a key operational link between our local vendors and our broader team, helping ensure that our UK outbound network runs reliably, efficiently, and at a high standard. You won’t be sitting on the sidelines. This role is for someone who wants to be in the field, in the flow of the work, understanding what is happening on the ground and helping make it better. You’ll identify issues, recommend solutions, and help drive implementation in partnership with management and cross-functional teams. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership, thrives in fast-moving environments, and wants to have a direct impact on how an international logistics operation grows.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner closely with third-party operational vendors to ensure performance meets SLAs, KPIs, and service expectations.
  • Visit processing centers to observe workflows, identify operational risks, and support day-to-day execution.
  • Act as the local operational point of contact for UK outbound performance, service issues, and on-site follow-through.
  • Investigate exceptions, delays, and recurring operational breakdowns to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Help turn operational insights into action by supporting rollout and implementation of improvements with management and vendor teams.
  • Create and refine processes, SOPs, and operational documentation to improve consistency and execution.
  • Track trends in performance and escalate issues with clear, practical recommendations.
  • Build strong working relationships with vendor teams while holding a high bar for accountability and execution.
  • Collaborate with US-based operations teams and partner as needed with customer service, compliance, product, and engineering.

What Success Looks Like: In your first 6 months, you will help:

  • Reduce outbound exceptions across the UK network.
  • Improve transit times and overall delivery performance.
  • Strengthen operational consistency and vendor accountability.
  • Improve visibility into recurring issues and support more effective problem solving on the ground.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3-5 years of experience in operations, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Experience in international parcel logistics is strongly preferred.
  • Strong process creation and documentation skills.
  • Experience handling exceptions, solving operational problems, and improving workflows.
  • Ability to work independently, identify problems proactively, and bring forward thoughtful solutions.
  • Confidence operating in the field and serving as the boots on the ground for operational execution.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence partners without direct authority.
  • Willingness to have direct, constructive conversations and address performance issues when needed.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving, startup-oriented environment.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across functions and time zones.
  • Comfortable in warehouse and operational site environments.

Travel: This is a field-oriented role with home-based flexibility. You should expect regular travel to operational sites, including approximately 2-5 days per month near Heathrow, 2-5 days per month in Bristol, and quarterly travel to the Netherlands.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with third-party logistics providers, carriers, or operational vendors.
  • Experience in performance-driven operational environments with clear SLAs, KPIs, and service metrics.
  • Experience supporting growing or changing logistics networks.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid passport.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly within the UK and occasionally to the Netherlands.
  • Based within reasonable commuting distance of Heathrow.

Why This Role: This role offers the chance to make a visible impact in a growing international operation. You’ll have real ownership, meaningful field exposure, and the opportunity to help shape how our UK outbound network performs as we continue to expand. For the right person, it’s a chance to combine operational problem solving, partner management, and on-the-ground execution in a role where your work will directly influence customer outcomes and network performance.
