Overview
As a pet sitter or dog walker, you will spend your days outdoors, enjoy exercise, and be welcomed by local pets. This position is part‑time and ideal for people who love animals and want a flexible, rewarding job.
Midday Dog Walker Responsibilities
- Enter client homes and visit with pets for 15‑30 minutes each
- Walk pets as requested
- Feed pets as requested
- Ensure pets have clean water and refill as needed
- Patrol homes for accidents or damage caused by pets and report promptly
- Clean any accidents or damage found in client homes
- Communicate with Management
Pet Sitter Responsibilities
- Work weekdays, weekends, and holidays based on client needs
- Enter client homes and visit with pets for 15‑30 minutes each
- Act as primary caregiver for pets while owners are away
- Walk pets as requested
- Feed pets as requested
- Provide litter box or cage cleanup as required
- Ensure pets have clean water and refill as needed
- Patrol homes for accidents or damage caused by pets and report promptly
- Clean any accidents or damage found in client homes
- Communicate with Management
Requirements and Qualifications
- Preferred: Northern VA resident within 5 miles of 22301
- Reliable personal transportation
- Smart phone with internet access and data plan
- Detail‑oriented and able to follow instructions
- Responsible, reliable, dependable, and punctual
- Self‑management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Compassionate about animals, comfortable with small and large animals
- Willing to walk and drive in all weather conditions
- Commitment to at least 6 months (longer preferred)
- Pass criminal background check
Compensation and Benefits
This is a Part Time supplemental income position. Compensation ranges from $24‑$28 per hour plus tips and is paid on a per‑visit basis.
