As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Electrical CAD Technician to join our Technical team based in Walsall.

The Electrical CAD Technician will support the Technical and Operations teams in the production, review and management of electrical design drawings and associated project documentation.

The role

  • Produce, update and maintain high-quality electrical engineering drawings using Autodesk CAD software.
  • Support the preparation of LV, HV and EHV network designs, including cable route drawings, substation layouts, single line diagrams, construction drawings and associated design documentation.
  • Review and update red-line drawings and as-laid information received from site teams and construction teams to ensure accurate project records.
  • Produce and maintain as-built drawings and documentation following project completion.
  • Liaise with Design Engineers and Operations teams to resolve drawing queries, design clashes and technical issues.
  • Interpret engineering specifications, site survey information and technical data and translate these into clear and accurate CAD drawings.
  • Carry out utilities searches and review available statutory undertaker information to identify existing services that may impact proposed works.
  • Support the preparation and review of drawings associated with land rights, easements, wayleaves and cable routes where required.
  • Assist with Land Registry and other property searches to support the identification of land ownership and potential constraints affecting proposed electrical infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate drawing registers, revision histories and document control systems.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with Pascon Ltd's internal procedures, client requirements, relevant DNO standards and applicable industry regulations.
  • Work closely with internal Design Engineers, Technical Managers and Operations teams to support efficient project delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, contractors, clients and utility companies where required.
  • Support the management of shared technical mailboxes and ensure relevant drawing and project-related actions are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure health, safety and welfare considerations are incorporated into the design process through effective identification and management of design risks.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of CAD standards, drawing templates and technical processes within the business.
