Must be based in Europe or United Kingdom: Parzy Consulting is hiring a Product Sustainability and Stewardship Consultant for a remote contract position. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of producer responsibility legal requirements, including Global REACH, RoHS/WEEE, Conflict Minerals, SDS, CLP, Prop 65, Batteries, Packaging, BPR, PIC, and POPS. As a consultant, you will work closely for global and large technology clients to provide technical direction on meeting rules and regulations applicable to their operations. This role is responsible for collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders at the client’s sites through development and review of producer responsibility related processes and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews current processes that support Producer Responsibility to identify improvements related to compliance with geography-specific restricted substance requirements (e.g., RoHS, REACH, EU MDR, TSCA, LOC, Conflict Minerals, SDS, CLP, BPR, PIC, and POPS) and develop actions plans with support on resolutions.
  • Review customer requests and provide expert guidance on general PR requests, Letters of Confirmation and Safety Data Sheets.
  • Develop and implement written program with training materials that support Producer Responsibility.
  • Map out processes for tracking of part, packaging, and product information to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Determine best process for facilitating, tracking, and working with various groups on component changes in the manufacture, import, and distribution of any new product or relocation of manufacturing processes.
  • Map out process for development and sustainment of Product Safety Data Sheets to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to work part-time/remote as a contractor up to 16 hrs. per week as needed.

Education

  • BS/MS in chemistry, biology, material science, engineering or similar degree.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in related fields such as environmental, health, safety, product sustainability stewardship.
  • Working knowledge of preparation and review of Product Safety Data Sheets a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulations such as REACH, RoHS, EUMDR, TSCA, Conflict Minerals and Prop 65.
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects for multiple clients in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with or in biotech/pharmaceutical environments is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with data analytics and continuous improvement practices preferred.
