We are looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to join our clients expanding engineering team. This is a key role focused on integrating smart tools, improving processes and supporting manufacturing operations through automation and control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement control systems to support automation and smart tooling
  • Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Integrate new technologies into current manufacturing and test environments
  • Program and manage systems for data collection, automation, and communication
  • Support production with troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities
  • Contribute to small projects, ensuring delivery to time and budget
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation (schematics, reports, procedures)
  • Ensure systems meet safety and compliance standards
Key Skills & Experience
  • Background in controls, automation or mechatronics
  • Experience with PLC/HMI systems, industrial automation or similar
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to fault finding
  • Ability to work with data systems and basic programming
  • Understanding of manufacturing or engineering environments
  • Knowledge of EHS and safe working practices
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
Desirable
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols / networking
  • Exposure to data analysis or process optimisation
  • Knowledge of aviation or highly regulated environments
