We are looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to join our clients expanding engineering team. This is a key role focused on integrating smart tools, improving processes and supporting manufacturing operations through automation and control systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement control systems to support automation and smart tooling
- Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Integrate new technologies into current manufacturing and test environments
- Program and manage systems for data collection, automation, and communication
- Support production with troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities
- Contribute to small projects, ensuring delivery to time and budget
- Produce and maintain technical documentation (schematics, reports, procedures)
- Ensure systems meet safety and compliance standards
- Background in controls, automation or mechatronics
- Experience with PLC/HMI systems, industrial automation or similar
- Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to fault finding
- Ability to work with data systems and basic programming
- Understanding of manufacturing or engineering environments
- Knowledge of EHS and safe working practices
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
- Experience with industrial communication protocols / networking
- Exposure to data analysis or process optimisation
- Knowledge of aviation or highly regulated environments
