We are looking for an experienced Buyer to join a busy manufacturing environment, supporting the Operations function with day-to-day purchasing and materials planning. This role is key to ensuring materials are sourced, ordered and delivered on time so production can run smoothly and customer commitments are met. You will work closely with suppliers, operations teams, engineering, and customer-facing colleagues to help maintain a reliable and efficient supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise, manage, and maintain purchase orders in line with production requirements
  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm lead times, chase deliveries and resolve delays
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery accuracy and overdue orders
  • Work closely with operations teams to ensure material availability aligns with production plans
  • Assist in identifying and onboarding new suppliers or alternative materials
  • Support continuous improvement of material flow and supply chain processes
  • Coordinate with Customer Experience to flag and communicate any potential delivery risks
  • Work with Engineering and Design teams to source or substitute materials when required

What We Are Looking For

  • 2–3 years’ experience in purchasing, materials planning or supply chain (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident communicator, able to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal teams
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

Desirable Experience

  • Experience using MRP/ERP systems
  • Understanding of Kanban or Vendor Managed Inventory
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
