We are currently looking for an experienced Quality Inspector for our client who are a leading precision engineering business in East Ayrshire where you support quality assurance across the production process.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct first-off, in-process and final inspections
- Use a range of measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, bore gauges, CMM)
- Interpret engineering drawings and tolerances (GD&T)
- Record inspection results and manage non-conformances
- Work closely with production to resolve quality issues
- Maintain accurate inspection documentation and traceability
- Support continuous improvement activities
Requirements
- Experience in precision engineering/manufacturing
- Strong inspection and measurement skills
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand GD&T
- Experience working to ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards
- Good attention to detail and communication skills
- CMM experience (operation/programming)
Desirable
- Engineering qualification (NVQ / HNC)
- Experience with CMM software (PC-DMIS, MCOSMOS)
- Lean / Six Sigma awareness
