We are currently looking for an experienced Quality Inspector for our client who are a leading precision engineering business in East Ayrshire where you support quality assurance across the production process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct first-off, in-process and final inspections
  • Use a range of measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, bore gauges, CMM)
  • Interpret engineering drawings and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Record inspection results and manage non-conformances
  • Work closely with production to resolve quality issues
  • Maintain accurate inspection documentation and traceability
  • Support continuous improvement activities

Requirements

  • Experience in precision engineering/manufacturing
  • Strong inspection and measurement skills
  • Ability to read technical drawings and understand GD&T
  • Experience working to ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards
  • Good attention to detail and communication skills
  • CMM experience (operation/programming)

Desirable

  • Engineering qualification (NVQ / HNC)
  • Experience with CMM software (PC-DMIS, MCOSMOS)
  • Lean / Six Sigma awareness
