An excellent opportunity has arisen for experienced CNC Operator/s to join a highly advanced manufacturing facility where you be expected to operate a range of CNC machining centres including turning, milling and grinding equipment producing bespoke components to exact specifications.

Salary & Shift Options:

  • £44.9k – Weekly rotating early & back shifts (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm)
  • £52.4k – Permanent night shift

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets and technical specifications
  • Set up and operate CNC turning, milling and grinding machinery
  • Download and manage CNC programs from DNC systems
  • Select and install tooling for machining operations
  • Calculate feeds and speeds for a range of materials including steel, aluminium, brass and bronze
  • Edit and write CNC programs where required
  • Carry out dimensional and visual quality inspections using precision measuring equipment
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to improve productivity and reduce setup times
  • Prepare finished components for dispatch including cleaning, wrapping and packaging
  • Ensure all completed components are correctly identified and meet quality standards

Requirements:

  • Previous experience operating CNC machine tools within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling and inspection methods
  • Experience working with a variety of metals and materials
  • Flexible approach to shift working
