An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Engineering Manager to join a well-established and growing manufacturing operation. Reporting to senior leadership, you will take responsibility for leading site engineering, maintenance operations, team performance, safety standards and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. This role would suit a hands-on leader with strong people management capability, a proactive approach to operational performance and a focus on driving reliability, efficiency and best practice across site operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineering and maintenance teams to ensure safe and efficient site operations
  • Coordinate labour and resources to maximise operational uptime and productivity
  • Ensure all health & safety procedures, permit systems, and safe working practices are fully implemented
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, cost reduction, and performance optimisation
  • Work closely with internal teams to prioritise maintenance activities and support operational targets
  • Ensure all plant, equipment, and site assets are maintained to a high operational standard
  • Monitor team performance, provide coaching and development support, and conduct performance reviews where required
  • Identify and address hazards, near misses, and operational risks in a proactive manner
  • Support compliance with all relevant company procedures, quality standards, and environmental regulations
  • Assist with site improvement projects and operational development plans

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience within an Engineering Manager, Site Manager, Maintenance Manager or similar leadership role
  • Strong background in managing engineering or maintenance teams within a fast-paced operational environment
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and leadership capability with the ability to motivate teams effectively
  • Experience driving continuous improvement and operational efficiencies
  • Good understanding of preventative maintenance systems and asset reliability
  • Health & Safety knowledge with IOSH qualification or equivalent desirable
  • Experience of lean methodologies and continuous improvement tools would be advantageous
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and managing multiple priorities
  • Strong IT and reporting skills
