We're working with a long-established software and technology business that's adding a dedicated cloud hire to the engineering team for the first time. The role sits alongside the Software Development team, so as well as running the Azure environment that underpins the business and its products, you'll be close to the SDLC, supporting deployments, and shaping how the platform side evolves. A brand-new role and a real chance to put your stamp on how cloud infrastructure is managed.
It's a broad, hands-on role spanning Azure platform administration, Microsoft 365, internal IT and customer-facing infrastructure. You'll own how the cloud environment is configured day to day, troubleshoot across both production systems and internal services, and contribute to ongoing automation and DevOps work as the team matures. Lots of variety, lots of ownership, and a clear runway into adjacent areas like cloud architecture or security.
What you'll be involved in:
- Day-to-day Azure platform administration across App Services, Key Vault, Azure SQL, App Configuration and Front Door
- Microsoft 365 administration including Intune, device compliance, SharePoint and Teams
- Cloud networking, VPN configuration and identity work (Entra ID, Conditional Access)
- Supporting deployments and infrastructure changes alongside the development team
- Contributing to Infrastructure as Code (Bicep or Terraform) and Azure DevOps pipeline work
- Acting as a point of escalation for production and internal IT issues
- Occasional customer-facing technical conversations
Your experience will ideally include:
- Hands-on Azure administration in a production environment
- Microsoft 365, Intune and SharePoint
- Azure SQL, App Services, Key Vault, Front Door or comparable PaaS workload experience
- PowerShell scripting and a working understanding of Bicep, Terraform or another IaC tool
- Exposure to Azure DevOps pipelines or similar CI/CD tooling
- Comfortable working alongside a Software Development team and engaging with the wider business
- AZ-104, AZ-204 or MS-102 are a plus, and so is anyone working towards them.
The role is hybrid with one day per week in the Bicester office and home working for the rest. If you're an Azure-side Infrastructure or Platform Engineer who wants real variety, modern tech and the chance to shape something from day one, get in touch.
