We are building out a new team in Harpenden and looking for Support Workers. We are open to people seeing full time & part-time employment – we’d love to hear from you!
For these specific positions, we can only consider female applicants, as a genuine occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010.
About us
With us, you’ll never be just a number; you’ll be part of a close-knit team that genuinely cares about the people we support, and each other. Since 2008, Partners in Support has provided supported living services across Hertfordshire. We’re proud to be a local, values-led organisation that puts people before growth. We believe in dignity, respect, compassion, and partnership, supporting people to live the lives they choose in their own homes and communities.
About the role
You’ll support people to build confidence, develop independence, learn new skills, access their community by taking part in activities, and do the things that matter most to them. No two days are the same, so if you enjoy variety and want a rewarding role where you can make a real difference, this could be the perfect opportunity.
We’re committed to supporting our colleagues through regular check-ins, supervision, training, and ongoing communication, so you’ll feel supported both personally and professionally.
No previous social care experience is required, as full training will be provided.
The shift patterns are (approximately, subject to change): 7.15am to 2.45pm, 2.30 to 10pm, 10pm to 7.15am. We need you to be as flexible as possible to cover these shifts within a small team, all dedicated to one person. If you are employed full-time, you will work 5 shifts over 7 days.
What we're looking for
- Commitment to empowering people with a kind, respectful, and patient approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Confidence to remain calm in difficult situations
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins on a rota
- Full UK manual driving licence preferred
What we offer
- £12.81 per hour, plus £75 per sleep-in. Guaranteed hours on a permanent contract.
- Paid birthday leave, long service awards, Blue Light card, Costco membership, and paid DBS
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Ongoing training, upskilling and progression opportunities – all paid for by us
