Located in our London Office, the Compliance Manager UK will report to the Head of Compliance Europe (based in Dublin).

UK Branch Responsibilities

The role holder will be a member of the UK Branch Oversight Committee and will present to the Committee on a quarterly basis. The role holder will hold the SMF 16 - Compliance Oversight role for the UK Branch of PartnerRe entities. You will liaise with and work closely with the UK Branch Manager and keep them apprised of regulatory developments that affect the running of the branch. You will be the primary point of contact for UK regulators.

About the Role

The roleholder will be responsible for the design, implementation, and execution of the compliance monitoring program for the PartnerRe European and Bermuda entities. You may also be required to assist with day-to-day compliance activities and the delivery of regulatory projects. This role will require you to:

  • Co-ordinate the annual regulatory risk assessment.
  • Work closely with the European Head of Compliance to design the annual compliance monitoring program.
  • Implement and execute the annual compliance monitoring program.
  • Prepare quarterly and ad-hoc compliance monitoring reports for Board and sub-Committee meetings.
  • Support the day-to-day European Compliance operations as required.
  • Participate in regulatory projects as required.
  • Co-ordinate returns on behalf of the branch.
  • Provide compliance support for the UK branch operations of the European entities.

Work Experience and Qualifications

3rd level qualification is essential. Professional qualifications are desirable. 5+ years prior experience developing and executing monitoring plans within a regulated firm (within the compliance or internal audit function). Expert in UK and European (re)insurance prudential regulation. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as demonstrating your social competence and assertiveness is essential. Stakeholder management is essential. Ability to work independently as well as within a team to build strong relationships with colleagues.
