Join Stromasys as a Field Engineer that will engage with customers, partners or professional services providers in software installation / system integration at client sites and remotely. The role requires long term commitment for migration and support of legacy workloads running on emulators. In this role, you will excel if you like to work with legacy systems, troubleshooting network and running virtual machines.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers, partners or professional services providers in software installation and system integration at client sites and remotely.
- Support migration and ongoing operations for legacy workloads running on emulators.
- Troubleshoot network issues and manage virtual machines in legacy environments.
- Presales support and collaboration with the sales team to demonstrate value to prospects.
- Deliver solutions independently and on time, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- System administration and disaster recovery experience with legacy OS environments (Mandatory): HP-UX, version 11.x
- Experience with HP-UX 10.x - 9.x is a plus
- Solaris, versions 5.10.x to 5.11.4
- Legacy Solaris versions from SunOS 4.0.4 to Solaris 5.9 are a plus
- Linux system and network administration experience (understanding of system components and services)
- Technical project management skills
- Interest in presales meetings and supporting the sales team to engage prospects
- Ability to work independently and deliver solutions on time
- Commitment to customer satisfaction and collaboration
- Fluent in English
- Willingness to work with legacy systems and migration projects
Additional Skills
- Proficiency with cloud architecture and key cloud operators
- Experience with software and hardware migration projects
- System administration experience with OpenVMS (VAX, Alpha, Integrity) versions 4.5 - 8.4
- Tru64 UNIX versions 3.x - 5.x
- HP MPE-ix versions 6.0 - 7.5
- System and network troubleshooting in mixed Windows/Linux/Solaris/HP-UX/VMS/Tru64/SAN environments
- Experience with virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
- LAN network technologies understanding
- SAN/NAS/iSCSI storage technologies understanding
- Experience with application stacks such as Oracle, Sybase, RDB
