Job Summary
Our Agile Delivery Leads are responsible for leading one or more cross-functional engineering teams on the delivery of a planned roadmap of projects and initiatives. We are looking for people who have a deep understanding of agile principles and extensive practical experience of working in an agile environment, specifically with Scrum. Our Agile Delivery Leads will build mature, self-organizing and long-lived engineering teams. They will lead the teams through the practical aspects of agile software development and are able to provide real answers on the most difficult challenges faced with implementing Scrum. Our Agile Delivery Leads have a solid, bottom-up understanding and are able to lead, inspire and succeed with agile.
What You Will Do
- Lead teams in their journey to becoming a mature, self-organizing, and high-performing agile team.
- Own the team's processes, ensuring agile approaches are pragmatically followed and that we're continuously reviewing and improving.
- Ensure projects follow the correct software development lifecycle processes and that stakeholders are given the right transparency and input.
- Lead by example and support your teams; not just engineers but product managers too.
- Be hands-on with project planning—actively partner with agile delivery teams to reduce risk and uncertainty early in the lifecycle.
- Lead practical planning discussions from a blank canvas, shaping realistic delivery scenarios and plans at a level of detail that adds value, and translating these into clear timelines, milestones, and resource expectations for internal stakeholders.
- Identify and remove risks and impediments.
- Facilitate all agile ceremonies to ensure that sprint and project goals are accomplished.
- Work with Product Managers to ensure user stories follow the right standards and that the right considerations are being made when prioritising the backlog.
- Work with other Agile Delivery Leads to discuss new tools and techniques both in the industry and emerging from the engineering teams.
- Track metrics and data to forecast and report on delivery, manage expectations and improve efficiencies in the teams.
- Build a safe culture in your teams, based on trust, open communication and transparency.
Qualifications
- 3+ years leading agile software development teams.
- Passionate and enthusiastic about agile software delivery.
- Able to lead, challenge, coach and mentor.
- Able to get started immediately with Scrum and agile, and be driven by continuous improvement.
- Able to focus on what matters and what is valuable, at any given time.
- An excellent communicator, motivator, negotiator and influencer.
- A self-starter who enjoys learning, reading and sharing knowledge on agile and engineering best practice.
