Willow Tree Surgery is looking for a friendly, organised, and professional Receptionist to join our busy GP practice team on a full-time basis of 37.5 hours per week, working shifts covering between 08:00 and 18:30. This is an important front-facing role where you will provide excellent customer service to patients and support the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. The successful candidate will act as a key point of contact for patients and will work closely with GPs, nursing staff, and the wider administrative team to ensure enquiries are handled efficiently, accurately, and courteously.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting patients and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner
- Responding to patient enquiries both in person and over the telephone
- Booking appointments, recalls, and managing appointment systems
- Handling urgent appointment requests appropriately
- Processing repeat prescription requests in line with practice policies
- Managing requests for prescription collection and medication queries
- Recording and distributing documentation accurately and promptly
- Accepting payments for private services and issuing receipts
- Entering home visit requests and escalating where appropriate
- Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
- Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff
- Ensuring the reception area and surgery premises remain tidy and organised
