Are you an experienced Healthcare Support Worker looking for a fast-paced and rewarding role? Join our friendly team at Lymington Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), where we provide high-quality care for patients with minor injuries and illnesses. As part of our GP-led, multi-disciplinary team, you’ll play a key role in supporting clinicians and ensuring the smooth running of the department. No two days are the same – you’ll be involved in direct patient care, emergency support, and helping to keep our service running efficiently.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting clinicians with wound care, burns management, plaster application, and dressings.
  • Taking clinical observations, recording ECGs, and monitoring patients of all ages.
  • Assisting with emergency care (CPR, anaphylaxis management, defibrillation – within your scope).
  • Performing venepuncture and cannulation (following training and competency).
  • Maintaining infection control standards and a safe, clean department.
  • Helping with stock control, ordering, and departmental organisation.
  • Providing excellent communication and reassurance to patients and carers.
  • Supporting reception during busy times, including patient registration.

About you:

  • Essential: GCSE/O Level English (or equivalent). NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare / Care Certificate (or equivalent knowledge through practice). At least 2 years’ experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in a UTC, GP surgery, or emergency department. Skills in wound care, dressings, plastering, ECGs, or venepuncture.
