Guided by our values Truly Care | Team First | Pioneering Innovation, we are committed to improving outcomes for patients by ensuring our teams have the right tools, technology, and support to deliver safe and effective care. Technology plays a vital role in everything we do, and our IT teams are key to keeping our services connected, secure, and running smoothly.

We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing IT team, supporting a UK‑wide healthcare environment. In this role, you will provide hands‑on technical support and infrastructure expertise across multiple sites, ensuring clinical and operational teams have secure and reliable access to the systems they depend on every day. You will work across a broad range of technologies including Windows environments, Microsoft 365, networking, and clinical systems, as well as contributing to IT projects such as upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments. This is a varied, field‑based role ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, working independently, and making a direct impact on service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1st and 2nd line IT support across multiple UK sites (remote and on‑site)
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and end‑user devices
  • Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and endpoint technologies
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure including Wi‑Fi, VPNs, firewalls, and switches
  • Support clinical systems, including electronic patient record (EPR) platforms and integrated medical devices
  • Manage user accounts, access permissions, and security controls in line with GDPR and cybersecurity standards
  • Participate in IT projects including system upgrades, migrations, and rollouts
  • Maintain accurate IT asset records and technical documentation
  • Work closely with clinical and operational teams to ensure technology supports safe patient care
  • Travel nationally as required to support business and project needs

You are a proactive and skilled IT professional with a strong background in 2nd line support or infrastructure engineering. You thrive in a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment and take pride in delivering excellent service to end users. You will bring:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a 2nd line IT support or infrastructure role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
  • Experience with Active Directory, networking, and secure remote access solutions
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • The ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical users
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A customer‑focused, calm, and solution‑oriented approach
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally

At PHL, we are Truly Caring, Team First, and Pioneering Innovation. You’ll be part of a supportive and forward‑thinking organisation where your work directly contributes to improving patient care. We offer a varied and dynamic environment, opportunities to work on meaningful projects, and the chance to develop your technical skills across a wide range of systems and technologies.
