We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead to provide clinical and operational leadership across our Enhanced Access Service, Special Allocations Scheme (SAS), and Winchester Urgent Care Clinic, while also undertaking clinical duties as a General Practitioner. Based at Segensworth, the role requires cover across services in Havant, Waterlooville and Winchester. Occasional weekend working and some weekday evening shifts may be required.
Service Hours
- Special Allocations Scheme (SAS): Monday – Friday 08:00 to 18:30
- Enhanced Access: Monday - Friday 18:00 to 21:00 and Saturday 09:00 to 17:00
- Winchester Urgent Care Clinic: 18:30–23:00 and Saturday & Sunday 08:00 – 18:00
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership across all three services, supporting high-quality, patient-centred care and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. You will lead service development, clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and support the professional development of clinical staff.
Clinical responsibilities include:
- Assessing, diagnosing and managing patients with acute, urgent and long-term conditions.
- Providing face-to-face consultations and remote clinical assessment.
- Requesting and interpreting investigations, including pathology and diagnostic imaging.
- Making evidence-based clinical decisions and appropriate referrals.
- Supporting safe, effective and compassionate care across all services.
- Managing clinical incidents, complaints and patient safety concerns in line with governance requirements.
About You
Essential
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
- MRCGP or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Inclusion on the NHS Performers List with no restrictions or conditions.
- Evidence of annual appraisal and compliance with GMC revalidation requirements.
- Experience working in primary care and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and decision-making skills.
- Ability to provide clinical leadership and contribute to service development.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Authorised to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or ability to obtain).
Desirable
- Minimum of 3 years post-CCT experience.
- Experience of working with patients with mental health diagnoses, neurodiversity, substance misuse, homeless healthcare, or prison healthcare.
