The Fabrication Joiner will work within a clean room environment, specialising in the cutting, shaping, and assembly of metal components. This role focuses on the fabrication of pipe sections, metal frameworks, wall panels, and structural assemblies. No woodwork is involved. Precision, contamination control, and adherence to strict safety and quality standards are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cut, shape, and prepare metal pipes, panels, and framework components using appropriate tools and machinery.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal wall panels, frames, brackets, and structural sections to specification.
  • Work within a clean room environment, following all gowning, contamination-control, and housekeeping procedures.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, fabrication diagrams, and engineering specifications.
  • Carry out accurate measuring, marking, drilling, and finishing of metal components.
  • Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, drills, shears, and bending tools.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure all fabricated components meet dimensional and cleanliness standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and clean room teams to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any deviations from specification.
  • Follow all H&S procedures, including safe handling of metal materials, tools, and equipment.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Fabrication Joiner, Metal Joiner, Fabricator, or similar metalworking role.
  • Strong background in metal-only fabrication (no woodwork).
  • Experience working in clean rooms, controlled environments, or precision manufacturing.
  • Confident using metal fabrication tools and machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong understanding of H&S, including PPE, tool safety, and contamination control.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, aerospace, or other clean manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of stainless steel fabrication or light-gauge metalwork.
  • Experience with modular wall systems or metal panel installation.
  • Relevant fabrication or engineering qualifications.
