ETI-NET, A PartnerOne company, is the worldwide leader in managing critical data for industries that never stop. We develop software which allows HPE NonStop™ servers to access modern technologies. Now in our third decade of operation, ETI-NET is renowned for delivering leading-edge components to major data centres globally. Today, ETI-NET is driving new initiatives to further extend its reach in the HPE NonStop™ space by doubling down on its primary HPE NonStop™ products. We’re expanding our team to expedite growth plans and are looking for an experienced HPE NonStop™ Developer to join our ranks.
The job will be remote (e.g., home-based) so we can be extremely flexible on location. Your role is to work on the HPE NonStop™ (formerly Tandem) Systems as a Developer, designing and developing new functionality to the ETI-NET product set in C, TAL and COBOL, as well as maintaining our existing code and providing product support.
Requirements
- Development experience on HPE NonStop™ mainframes.
- Development of unit and integration test specifications to ensure that software items are thoroughly tested.
- Software testing to ensure software is fit for purpose.
- Documentation of software product features. Providing technical authors with information for inclusion in software manuals and online help.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Aptitude and communication skills to attend meetings to represent the company, e.g., to discuss the detailed design and other technical issues.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team and time management skills.
- Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed.
- Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients and contacts.
You should possess most of the following attributes and have the capacity to acquire the remainder on the job.
- TAL, pTAL, COBOL85, SCOBOL, TACL, C/C++.
- Guardian, OSS, EMS, DDL, Escribe, FUP, TS/MP (Pathway), Inspect, TMF.
- Experience of IBM mainframe systems would be beneficial.
