With a strong operational footprint and a continued focus on transformation and scalability, the organisation is investing heavily in modernising its finance infrastructure and driving greater efficiency across the function.
As the business continues to evolve, they are looking to appoint an Interim Finance Director into a high-impact role. This position will play a critical role in leading the transformation of the finance function, with a particular focus on process automation, systems optimisation, and the implementation of AI-driven solutions to enhance reporting, controls, and decision-making capabilities.

Key responsibilities:- Driving efficiency across the month-end close process to reduce cycle times and minimise manual intervention.
- Improving the forecasting cadence and leading the development of the FY27 budget.
- Refining staff cost analysis and headcount reporting to enhance visibility and decision-making.
- Bringing greater rigour and insight to opex reporting, identifying trends and opportunities for cost savings.
- Organising and driving clear, up-to-date documentation of finance processes, procedures, and controls.
- Embedding process documentation and controls as an ongoing discipline across the finance function.
- Coaching the Financial Controller and supporting the build-out and development of the wider finance team.
- Partnering closely with the FP&A Lead to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Driving the adoption and practical application of AI solutions across the finance team and wider function.
- Driving cash collection initiatives and reducing debtor balances to strengthen working capital performance.
- Overseeing the review of claims, disputes, and liabilities to ensure appropriate financial governance and control.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with proven senior finance leadership experience at Finance Director level or equivalent.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering finance transformation and process improvement initiatives, with the ability to articulate tangible examples and outcomes.
- A genuine coach and developer of people, with experience supporting and mentoring Financial Controllers and senior finance professionals.
- Strong appreciation for robust documentation, processes, and controls, viewing them as fundamental to an effective finance function.
- Commercially minded and hands-on, with the ability to balance strategic oversight with operational delivery.
- Comfortable operating within evolving environments and leveraging technology, automation, and AI-driven solutions to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.
