Partner Financial are delighted to be partnering with a rapidly growing business operating within the industrial gases and sustainable process industries in the appointment of a commercially driven General Manager.

This is a broad leadership opportunity within an innovative organisation.

The business has established a strong position through its focus on reliability, quality and customer service and is now entering an exciting period of expansion.

The company operates within a specialist process environment, supplying critical products to customers across a number of sectors where continuity of supply is essential.

With plans to significantly increase the scale of the business over the next three to four years, including the integration of new production facilities and continued market expansion, this is an important appointment for the organisation.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will take broad responsibility for the day-to-day management and commercial performance of the business.

This is a highly hands-on role, combining commercial leadership and business development with full P&L ownership, operational oversight and responsibility for supply chain resilience.

The General Manager will have a significant role in shaping the next phase of growth, strengthening the organisation's infrastructure and ensuring it has the people, processes and capabilities required to scale successfully.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy, taking personal ownership of business development, customer acquisition and the identification of new markets and revenue opportunities.
  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with key customers, suppliers and strategic partners, acting as a senior ambassador for the organisation.
  • Have full P&L accountability, with a strong focus on budgeting, financial performance, resource allocation and delivering sustainable, profitable growth.
  • Provide leadership across the business, taking responsibility for day-to-day performance, business planning and organisational development.
  • Strengthen systems, processes and governance to support the company's growth, whilst retaining the agility and pace of a lean organisation.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to oversee supply chain and operational challenges, ensuring continuity of supply whilst balancing customer requirements, operational capacity and profitability.
  • Lead the response to production and supply issues, contributing to troubleshooting, root cause analysis and the resolution of operational challenges.
  • Support the successful integration of new production facilities and the continued development of the wider operating model.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a small, high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Significant commercial leadership experience, with a proven track record of delivering business growth and improving profitability.
  • Strong business development and customer acquisition credentials
  • Experience managing senior relationships with customers, suppliers and strategic partners.
