This is a pivotal senior leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the private equity stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the finance function, enhancing financial processes and controls, and providing strategic insight to support the business through its next phase of growth.

While core processes are already in place, there is a clear opportunity to further professionalise the finance function, enhance reporting quality and insight and strengthen systems and controls to support a more dynamic, data-led approach to decision making. The remit goes well beyond traditional finance leadership, with a strong emphasis on commercial impact, performance visibility and driving better business outcomes.
Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, the Finance Director will act as a true commercial partner to the business, providing strategic insight, improving financial transparency and supporting key value creation and growth initiatives. This is a broad, hands-on role offering significant autonomy, influence at the top table, and genuine long-term scope to shape the direction and success of the business.
Key Responsibilities- Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team, providing commercial challenge, strategic insight and financial guidance across key business initiatives.
- Champion a data-driven culture, improving the use of financial and operational information to inform decision-making across the organisation.
- Develop and implement relevant performance metrics and management information to support sustainable growth and continued margin enhancement.
- Contribute to strategic planning and business transformation initiatives, helping to identify and unlock opportunities for long-term value creation.
- Drive improvements in working capital performance, optimising inventory management, cash conversion and supplier relationships.
- Lead all aspects of the finance function, ensuring robust financial management across reporting, controls, treasury, tax and audit activities.
- Enhance the quality, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, providing clear and actionable insight to support business decision-making.
- Strengthen the financial control environment by implementing scalable processes, governance frameworks and best-practice controls.
- Evaluate and optimise finance systems and technology, ensuring the function is equipped to support future growth and operational efficiency.
- Deliver meaningful analysis of pricing, margins, product performance and customer profitability to support commercial decision-making.
- Embed greater rigour and discipline across planning, budgeting and forecasting processes, improving visibility and accountability throughout the business.
- Develop and evolve the finance team, building the capabilities required to support the business through its next phase of growth.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong experience within SMEs, challenger brands or growing businesses.
- Demonstrated track record of improving, building or transforming finance functions, processes and systems.
- Strong understanding of both financial control and commercial finance, with the ability to balance operational detail and strategic thinking.
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing decision making across the business.
- Commercially minded, energetic, proactive and willing to take a hands-on approach.
