Principal Fire Engineer – North of England
We\’re looking for a principal fire engineer to help mentor and lead our Manchester crew
We\’re looking for a principal fire engineer to join the technical part of the business. You will deliver client projects, lead our team with advice and mentorship, as well as deliver expert technical support. You will contribute to the consulting output and assist with overall development of the business.
Main Duties
- Delivery of fire safety design projects, from concept to completion, including the application of non-standard fire engineered analysis
- Providing direct support to the Regional Director in team leadership and management
- Deliver client projects, provide technical support and help nurture the team
- Provision of quality assurance and peer review services for company employees and associates
- Completion of fee quotes, PQQ and ITT submissions for fire safety tenders
- Oversee and develop the technical capability of the team, contributing to the consulting output and assisting with the overall development of the region
- Help nurture junior members of the team, being a key part of their development
- Presentation of findings, reports and workshops
- Outward-facing role working directly with clients to fulfil their needs
- Attend client meetings and provide fee proposals as required
Key Skills & Requirements
- Typically, 5-7 years\’ experience in a consultancy or similar environment
- Extensive knowledge and experience of UK fire safety legislation and standards
- Extensive experience delivering fire engineered solutions for UK-based projects
- Clear understanding of the total fire concept – from client brief through to construction and operation
- Development and implementation of fire strategies, projects and research initiatives
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver maximum results
- Possess excellent report writing and communication skills – be collaborative, creative and engaging
- Ability to multi-task – you will be required to work on multiple projects concurrently, working to tight deadlines and juggling multiple demands
- Proven ability to develop a network of clients and colleagues at PartB and outside the company
- Understand and manage the scope and relevant programme constraints of projects
