We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Compliance Officer to join our team and support the delivery of fire compliance services across a diverse range of projects. Reporting to the Technical Director (Fire Compliance), you will act as a technical authority and primary client contact, ensuring that fire safety strategies and designs meet regulatory standards and best practices. This is a pivotal role where you will review technical designs, conduct compliance audits, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective fire safety solutions. You will also play a key part in developing remediation plans and overseeing their implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage fire compliance aspects of projects from feasibility through to completion and handover.
  • Review fire safety strategies and technical designs to ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations and relevant standards.
  • Conduct compliance audits and produce detailed reports.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies on fire compliance matters.
  • Provide expert advice during planning, construction, and regulatory approval processes.
  • Undertake occasional site inspections to monitor fire safety implementation.
  • Identify fire risks in cladding and firestopping systems and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Manage remediation projects, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Support tendering processes with technical input and review of contractor proposals.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Surveying, Fire Engineering, Façade Engineering, or related discipline OR 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Chartered status (RICS, IFE, CIOB, CABE) or working towards membership is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in fire consultancy, façade / external wall inspections, or building surveying.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, Approved Document B, BS 9991, BS 9999, and BS 7974 methodologies.
  • Familiarity with fire testing standards (BS 8414, BS EN 13501).
  • Excellent technical report‑writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel (including occasional overnight stays).
