Parsonage Grill, located within the five-star Old Parsonage Hotel, is famous for its intimate, bohemian, and clubby atmosphere. The philosophy focuses on using the best local produce available to create a menu of simple, sophisticated, and essentially British dishes. Having recently undergone a complete refurbishment programme, we have 80 bedrooms across three iconic properties in central Oxford, with unrivalled views across the city’s beautiful skyline. Role & responsibilities:

  • Lead by example in terms of behaviour, attitude, appearance, knowledge, performance, hospitality and customer service.
  • Ensure the bar team immediately welcome and acknowledge all guests at all times, and anticipate drink refills/food orders where appropriate.
  • Communicate regularly with the Manager on duty regarding staffing levels, monitoring shift requirements and pre-empting recruitment needs.
  • Liaise with Manager on duty to address and record any disciplinary matters when necessary.
  • Responsible for checking and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the bar and for following/checking the required health, hygiene and licensing procedures relating to both staff and customers.
  • Adhere to the daily cleaning rota, opening and closing procedures checklist.
  • Train and encourage the bar team to follow the set-up and close-down procedures rigidly.
  • Manage drink storage and stock rotation.
  • Ensure wastage/transfers are accurately recorded and reported.
  • Oversee the use of correct measures, consistency of recipes and method.
  • Cooperate with Senior Restaurant Manager regarding training schedule with bar staff members on company policy, cocktail recipes, procedure, and the importance of teamwork.
  • Encourage the development and progress of the bar staff.
  • Ensure training procedures for bar and restaurant staff are followed and training records are completed and maintained.
  • Encourage the bar team to recognize opportunities to up-sell.

We offer a sensible shift pattern, across a 40-hour working week (Monday to Sunday rota with two days off) with an OTE of up to £16.61 per hour, including non-contractual tronc (service charge). Part-time hours may also be considered.
