How will you impact? At Parser, we build the infrastructure that powers enterprise customer communications at scale. We're looking for a Senior Java Engineer who brings deep backend expertise, with a DevOps mindset, and a passion for building reliable, high-quality systems that make a real difference to customers.
Your key responsibilities:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable customer communication solutions, with a focus on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and related enterprise tools
- Developing high-quality backend services in Java (Spring Boot)
- Building and operating cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
- Championing CI/CD best practices to enable seamless, confident software delivery
- Taking ownership of system reliability, maintainability, and performance
- Producing clear, thorough documentation that supports team velocity and system longevity

What you'll bring to the role:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience delivering production Java applications
- Strong understanding of Spring Boot and microservices architecture
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar enterprise content/communication platforms
- Proficiency with cloud platforms - Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also valued
- Familiarity with Terraform or other IaC tooling (or a genuine drive to get up to speed)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines - e.g. GitHub Actions
- Solid grasp of both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment
Nice to Have:
- Experience with JVM languages beyond Java (Kotlin, Scala, Groovy)
- Exposure to TypeScript or Node.js for a full-stack context
- Background in system design and distributed systems
- Proficiency in Python for scripting or data-adjacent tooling
- Familiarity with LLMs, model architectures, and MCP, and experience integrating or building AI-powered features
- Understanding of Kubernetes - container orchestration, scaling strategies, networking, and resource management
Location: Candidates based in UK/London: Hybrid model, 2-3 days per week in the office at Welwyn Garden City
