You’ll be part of a dynamic support function, working across Health & Safety, Food Safety, Fire Safety, and Allergen Management, using a combination of internal systems, external advisors, and audit processes to drive standards and continuous improvement.

    • Support and develop safety policies, procedures, and systems to ensure they are practical and consistently applied.
    • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Fire Safety requirements across all venues.
    • Review and maintain risk assessments (including COSHH), keeping them aligned to real site operations.
  • Audits, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
    • Deliver internal audits across Food Safety, H&S, and Fire Safety.
    • Provide clear, actionable feedback that teams can implement immediately.
    • Track actions and support sites in maintaining consistent standards.
    • Report on safety performance, identifying trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Incidents & Risk Management
    • Support investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses.
    • Ensure accurate recording, follow‑up, and practical corrective actions.
    • Identify patterns and recurring risks to proactively reduce future issues.
  • Operational Support & Engagement
    • Act as a go‑to support for site teams on all safety‑related matters.
    • Build strong relationships with General Managers and Head Chefs.
    • Support regular safety conversations to build awareness and accountability.
  • Training & Development
    • Work with L&D to support delivery of safety training (online and face‑to‑face).
    • Help managers apply safety responsibilities confidently in practice.
    • Contribute to improving training content to reflect real operations.
  • Maintenance & Property
    • Provide safety guidance to maintenance and property teams.
    • Review supplier certifications and compliance documentation.
    • Highlight risks and elevate concerns to Directors where needed.
    • Support statutory compliance through planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Stakeholder & External Engagement
    • Build relationships with Environmental Health Officers, Local Authorities, insurers, and external partners.
    • Support external audits and ensure sites are well prepared.
    • Assist with ensuring new site openings are safe, compliant, and operationally ready.

Experience Required

  • Experience in a Food Safety, Health & Safety, or Compliance role (hospitality or multi‑site preferred).
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent qualification (or working towards).
  • Level 3 Food Safety (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong understanding of practical safety application in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience delivering audits and working with management systems.
  • Ability to investigate incidents and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple sites and priorities.
