Qualifications:
- 5 years+ experience within a consultancy, and ideally Chartered or working towards Chartership
- Experienced in carrying out works from feasibility/options assessments to detailed design, construction, commissioning, and handover
- Ability to deliver high quality, innovative and creative designs, drawings, specifications and design guidance notes using relevant 3D software packages
- Prior experience in supervising design staff; checking design calculations, drawings and specifications prepared by others
- Proficient in the use of Building Designer software
- Experience of attending client/contractor design review meetings
- Minimum of 3 years+ proven structural engineering experience
- Enroute to Chartership
- Proven ability to run small to medium projects, with the assistance of senior staff
- Someone who seeks practical, efficient, innovative and design‑led solutions
- Confident and strong communication skills in liaising with clients, design teams and collaborators
- Ability to deliver on deadlines while liaising with the project team and feeding back to senior team
- An understanding of the importance of repeat business and effective client management
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in engineering
- Ability to use various engineering software packages (AutoCAD is desirable but not essential)
- An enthusiastic character with the drive to develop and learn new skills
- Familiar with Eurocodes and design and analysis software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to generate technical notes and reports
