Centre Manager – Customer Experience & Sales
Glasgow | £30,000 | Full-time, Permanent | Monday–Friday
Customer Experience | Sales | Community | Operations
Are you brilliant with customers, commercially minded and the sort of person who sees something that needs doing and takes ownership of it?
Parmar Staffing is recruiting a Centre Manager for a successful and growing flexible workspace business.
This is not a traditional facilities management role.
We're looking for someone who can build relationships, create an exceptional customer experience, spot commercial opportunities and help ensure two busy workspace centres run brilliantly.
If your background is in customer success, hospitality, hotels, events, property, business centres, membership organisations, commercial retail or another customer focused environment, we'd like to hear from you.
The role
Based primarily in Glasgow, you'll be responsible for supporting the customer experience and commercial performance of workspace centres in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
You'll spend Tuesdays and Thursdays in Edinburgh and Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in Glasgow.
The role is 37.5 hours per week. Travel to Edinburgh forms part of your working time and your train travel between Glasgow and Edinburgh will be paid for by the company.
You'll be joining a business with occupancy already running at approximately 95–98%, so this isn't about rescuing an underperforming centre. It's about maintaining an excellent environment for existing customers while helping convert new opportunities as space becomes available.
What will you be doing?
You'll take responsibility for a broad mix of customer, commercial and operational activity, including:
• Responding to enquiries from prospective customers and understanding what they're looking for.
• Showing potential customers around the workspace and helping convert enquiries into new business.
• Building strong relationships with existing customers and supporting retention.
• Being a visible, approachable and professional presence within the centres.
• Creating an excellent experience for the businesses and people using the workspace.
• Supporting networking, events and community building activity.
• Taking ownership of everyday operational issues and getting things resolved.
• Liaising with suppliers and contractors when specialist support is required.
• Helping maintain the high standards expected across both locations.
This is a role for someone who is comfortable getting involved. You won't be expected to be a maintenance expert, but you should be practical, use good judgement and take ownership when something needs attention.
Who are we looking for?
Job title and sector are less important to us than your attitude and transferable skills.
You'll probably be someone who:
• Has excellent customer service and relationship building skills.
• Is commercially aware and comfortable having sales conversations.
• Enjoys meeting new people and building relationships.
• Can confidently show prospective customers around a workspace and communicate its benefits.
• Is proactive and doesn't wait to be told what to do.
• Has the resilience to deal calmly with problems and unexpected situations.
• Is organised and able to juggle different priorities.
• Has empathy and understands how to work with different personalities.
• Takes pride in creating a great customer experience.
• Has the judgement to know what you can resolve yourself and when to bring in specialist help.
Previous experience within coworking, flexible workspace or serviced offices would be useful, but it is not essential.
We are equally interested in people from customer success, hospitality, hotels, events, property, business centres, membership organisations, commercial retail and similar customer-facing environments.
