Job Description
Warehouse Manager
Permanent | Site based | 40 hours per week | Own transport essential
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to take ownership of an established warehouse operation and lead it through a significant period of operational transformation and growth.
We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager who has done more than simply run the day to day operation. You will need to demonstrate how you have challenged existing processes, introduced meaningful improvements and delivered measurable change across productivity, stock control, people, quality or customer service.
You will lead approximately 20 warehouse employees through an established management structure, with responsibility for the performance, people, budget and future development of the warehouse operation.
The business is also preparing for a move into a new warehouse and office facility during 2027, giving the successful candidate a genuine opportunity to influence future processes, workflows and operational practices.
The Role
· Lead, coach and develop warehouse managers, team leaders and the wider warehouse operation.
· Take ownership of warehouse performance, headcount, wage costs and operational budget.
· Improve productivity, efficiency and operational consistency.
· Ensure customer orders are dispatched accurately and on time.
· Improve inventory accuracy, stock flow and warehouse capacity.
· Develop and implement improved warehouse processes and workflows.
· Use ERP and operational data to support decisions and identify improvement opportunities.
· Drive structured continuous improvement and root cause problem solving.
· Support the development of advanced warehouse functionality within the ERP system.
· Establish, monitor and improve meaningful operational KPIs.
· Maintain strong quality control, health and safety and environmental standards.
· Contribute to the planning and operational design required ahead of the 2027 facility move.
About You
We are looking for an established warehouse or operations professional who can demonstrate genuine operational improvement rather than simply maintaining an existing operation.
· Several years of warehouse management experience.
· Experience leading managers, supervisors or team leaders.
· Strong stock control and inventory management knowledge.
· Experience using an ERP or Warehouse Management System.
· Evidence of improving warehouse productivity, efficiency, stock accuracy, quality or cost.
· Experience implementing change and improving processes in a structured, methodical way.
· Strong KPI, analytical and problem solving skills.
· Budget and headcount management experience.
· A confident, fair and accountable approach to people leadership.
· Strong health and safety awareness.
· Own transport, essential due to the rural location.
Experience with Microsoft Business Central, Lean, Six Sigma or ISO standards would be advantageous but is not essential. Formal qualifications are not required where you can demonstrate the relevant operational experience and results.
Package
· £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience.
· Company and personal bonus scheme.
· Option to purchase up to 3 additional holiday days.
· Employee wellbeing programme.
Permanent, 40 hour per week, site based position.
