We are seeking 2 x Digital Initiatives Managers (1x Fixed Term Contract - up to 1 year, and a Permanent Contract) to assist in applying insight and creating greater value from Parliament's use of technology. The role will work in close partnership with teams across both Houses and the Parliamentary Digital Service to inform the diagnosis of challenges, shape solutions, and assist in incubating new approaches that unlock digital value for teams across both Houses.

The role involves:

  • Delivering packages of work and supporting the overall delivery of targeted initiatives across PDS and wider Parliament, to help the organisation realise greater value from the use of digital, data and information.
  • Enabling and driving the delivery of strategic priorities for Parliament and for PDS, including the Information and Digital Strategy, and CIO review.
  • Understanding and applying data from a range of sources to develop evidence-based solutions to organisational challenges.
  • Listening to, and understanding, the needs of users, providing advice and guidance to stakeholders, encouraging creative thinking about solutions to overcome business challenges by using digital effectively.
  • Balancing workload across multiple workstreams and working with multiple cross-functional teams working towards shared goals that impact Parliament's use of information, data, and digital.

What You Need:

  • Experience of creative problem solving, with analytical skills and the ability to apply key insights from various data sources and implement evidence-based proposals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships and influence people at all levels within the organisation, and effectively manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience of working in complex organisational environments and managing delivery, and able to work in ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and tailor styles to different audiences.
  • Ability to contribute and manage the work of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver, helping them to identify and navigate change, whilst upholding the values of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Demonstrable experience of a range of skills relevant to supporting organisations in using technology more effectively (for example, service design, business analysis, technology expertise, change management or Parliamentary organisational knowledge).
  • The ability to pass security clearance, backed by the right to work in the UK.

About The Team:

The Digital Value Team exists to support Parliament in realising the full potential of using digital, data and information in its ways of working. It is here to support teams across PDS and both Houses to help get greater value from digital, in particular through delivery via the Information and Digital Strategy, implementation of the CIOs review, and use of strategic insights to identify cross-cutting and systemic barriers preventing that value realisation.
