Responsibilities
- To teach Dance to Key Stages 3 and 4 providing high quality learning to secure excellent progress and outcomes for all students.
- To contribute to the development of the curriculum, both in and out of the classroom, based on excellent subject knowledge and pedagogy.
- To support the effective use of resources, including the learning environment, and to contribute to the wider work of the school, e.g. enrichment, building cultural capital and creating positive relationships with the whole school community.
- The ability to teach another subject is desirable, to support and implement the school's mission statement and all aspects of school and department policies.
- To develop best practice in the classroom, remote and enrichment provision for all students including disadvantaged, those with high learning potential, SEND and English as an additional language.
- To model high standards of professional behaviours and attitudes at all times.
- In line with whole school targets and in discussion with the Team Leader, to contribute to achieving the targets identified in the Department Development Plan.
- To identify the professional learning required to achieve excellent outcomes for the students you teach, supporting the department's systematic monitoring, e.g. through student voice, work scrutinies, line management and classroom visits.
- To participate in the school's appraisal system, ensuring this makes a measurable, positive impact on all students' achievement.
- To share best practice in the department, including co-constructing schemes of learning and resources.
- To use data to inform planning and to work in partnership with specialist colleagues, e.g. the SENDCo, Teaching Assistants, the Form Tutor and Achievement Team Leader to ensure that learning is personalised for all students.
- To fulfil the role of Form Tutor or Co‑tutor, planning form time and tutor periods to ensure a meaningful experience for students which contributes to progress and wellbeing.
- To support the Team Leader in ensuring that the budget achieves best value for money in line with identified priorities.
- To adhere to health and safety during classroom activities and for enrichment activities.

- Experience of teaching, sound knowledge of the curriculum
- Evidence of successful practice curriculum in teaching and assessing
