As our Apprentice Lifeguard, you will learn everything you need to know to ensure the safety of all swimmers. When you aren’t on poolside, you will assist with a wide range of activities such as safety checks, assisting customers with their needs, and generally ensuring that you help maintain a comfortable and safe environment for our customers at all times. This is a full-time position and flexibility is essential as shifts will include evenings and weekends.
What you will do:
- You will be a role model to other swimmers and have the opportunity to learn additional valuable skills within the Leisure Centre including sales, customer service, effective communication, building workplace confidence, and improving your lifesaving abilities.
- Your responsibilities include supervising a wide variety of swimming sessions, maintaining the Centre’s high standards of health & safety and cleanliness, and assisting with general day-to-day operations.
What we expect:
- You must be able to demonstrate good time management and the ability to use initiative.
- The successful applicants will be enthusiastic, responsible, and hardworking individuals.
Qualifications you will gain:
- RLSS NPLQ qualification
- Level 3 Certificate in First Aid
- Level 2 Certificate in Fitness or Gym Instruction
- Level 2 Swim Teacher
These qualifications allow you to earn up to £15 per hour in the future.
Training and Support:
During your apprenticeship, you will receive a mix of on-and-off-the-job training, including shadowing other lifeguards to gain the competencies required for the role, completing modules and tasks, and working with a designated tutor from our learning partner.
