This post will play a critical role in maintaining the operational stability of the finance function, deepening our internal system expertise and ensuring continuity of key financial processes and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute routine operational finance tasks (e.g., system‐related month‑end close procedures, maintaining data interfaces) to ensure and support business continuity.
  • Understand the detail of current financial system configurations and workflows.
  • Build on current working documents to develop consistent documentation for all finance system processes and workflows, facilitating knowledge transfer and mitigating single points of failure.
  • Support system training across the finance and operational teams to build capacity and coverage.
  • Provide ongoing system maintenance and reactive support both internally and externally to finance, including troubleshooting system‑related issues as required.
  • Assist preparation for the new finance system implementation by supporting data cleansing.
  • Organise planning, execution, and delivery of department projects; proactively manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience working within a financial systems environment.
  • Proven ability to understand and document complex system workflows.
  • Experience in developing material for training and knowledge‑sharing purposes.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Desirable Experience & Knowledge

  • Formal finance or accounting qualification (part‑qualified or qualified by experience).
  • Experience working with operational teams to troubleshoot financial processes.
  • Experience of project work.
