Primary objectives for the Food and Beverage Assistant will be to supervise the day-to-day operations of the bar and catering facilities, ensuring the highest possible standards of Health and Safety and customer care.
The Food and Beverage Assistant will focus day-to-day on the following tasks:
- Supervise the day-to-day operation of the bar, restaurant and kitchen of the Centre.
- Prepare and cook meals and snacks in accordance with the requirements of the Centre.
- Undertake front of house bar duties as necessary.
- Ensure that all food is covered, stored, labelled and dated to meet the food safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995 or the terms of subsequent legislation.
- Make sure that food is handled, stored, prepared and served in such a way and condition as to prevent contamination of food and drink.
- Ensure that the kitchen and bar areas are entered only by authorised persons.
- Complete all cleaning duties whilst on shift.
- Report all injuries involving staff and members of the public to the Centre Manager.
- Record any complaints and pass them to the Centre Manager.
- Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are carried out at all times.
- Deliver a consistently high level of service to customers.
- Assist in the management of the Centre's quality assurance systems and procedures.
- Undertake cleaning duties as required.
- Be responsible and accountable for cash handling as required.
- Ensure that company financial regulations are adhered to in terms of cash handling.
- Provide a safe and efficient service for the public.
- Act as a key holder as required.
- Undertake any other duties as may be required by the Centre Manager to ensure that the business objectives of the contract are achieved.
The post holder will preferably hold a recognised qualification in Catering or a related subject, a first aid certificate and a Food and Hygiene Certificate, along with strong knowledge of the Leisure or related industry in a small/medium sized enterprise.

- Must be able to build strong relationships with customers, clients and employees.
- Must be able to communicate at different levels of the organisation, both listen and direct.
- Must be able to meet the demands of the role by working additional hours when required.
- Must be committed to good employee relations and deliver quality training.
- Must be able to work from various locations as and when required.
