Job Description

The Website Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining Parkwood Leisure's portfolio of websites, which includes a headless CMS and WordPress instances. This role is responsible for ensuring the websites are functional, up-to-date, and aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives. As well as troubleshooting technical issues, the Website Manager needs to ensure industry security standards are maintained, whilst implementing improvements to enhance the user experience and website performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Maintenance: Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, ensuring the website functions correctly and securely. Ensure all Application Programming Interface (API’s) integrations are working as intended and are connected to the web platforms. All WordPress plugins remain up to date, and all security aspects are covered. Ensure that payment gateways are maintained.
  • Performance Optimisation: Monitor website performance using website analytics tools such as Google Analytics 4, Google Console, and Semrush. Ensure that the website integrations are as robust as possible and that all API connections are as optimised as possible.
  • Security: Ensure the website is protected from security threats and vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate security measures. All plug-ins to websites are maintained and kept up to date.
  • Website Design and Development: Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the website meets the demands of the business in terms of functionality and design. Work with third-party developers to enhance the functionality and customer experience. Working with system providers to implement best practices. Using data-driven decisions to enhance the website.
  • SEO and Analytics: Work with an SEO agency to develop best practices and highlight areas for improvement to improve website visibility. Use analytics to help inform stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management and Collaboration: Work with third-party developers, ensuring that projects remain on track and on budget. Deliver CMS and WordPress training to site teams as required. Communicate with stakeholders of all levels of the business regarding website changes, projects, developments, and day-to-day issues. Working with third-party system providers to implement best practices. Travel to in-person supplier meetings and sites across the UK will be required.
  • Documentation: To maintain comprehensive documentation for integration processes, configurations on the website platform for all levels of the business.
  • User Experience (UX): Ensuring the websites are user-friendly and easy to navigate. Ensure that the customer journeys are simple and ever-evolving.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • To have experience working with multiple systems in complex organisations, integrated through APIs.
  • Experience working with CMS platforms such as Magnolia.
  • Experience managing WordPress sites.
  • Good knowledge of industry trends and understanding of good UX.
  • Good knowledge of Google Analytics 4, Google Console, and SEO tools such as Semrush.
  • Good communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Project management skills using agile methodologies, and the ability to work to deadlines.
