Provide an effective grounds maintenance service by cleansing local recreational grounds, cemeteries and open spaces. Work 24 hours per week, scheduled across three days (Friday to Sunday) from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • General cleansing of local recreational grounds, cemeteries and open spaces.
  • Removing litter and emptying litter and dog bins.
  • Cleansing graffiti or marks.
  • Carrying out duties in accordance with best practice.
  • Conducting park and routine play inspections, reporting any issues.
  • Working independently to manage assigned daily route and tasks.
  • Driving company vehicles.
  • Ensuring all equipment is used safely and reporting any defects.
  • Adhering to all Health and Safety procedures.

Health & Safety

  • Act in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act and Glendale Health and Safety Policy at all times.
  • Carry out instructions from your Line Manager in accordance with Glendale’s Health and Safety Policy, Codes of Practice, Quality Management Systems and the Employee Handbook.
  • Be knowledgeable of Health and Safety regulations within your workplace and the activities you carry out.
  • Complete the necessary induction and health and safety modules prior to starting work.
  • Take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and others in your working environment.
  • Promote safe working practices at all times and ensure all equipment is safe to use.

Machine Maintenance & Security

  • Ensure knowledge of the suitability and safety of all machinery/equipment used.
  • Ensure correct use of all machinery/equipment in accordance with its handbook.
  • Report any faulty machinery immediately to your Line Manager and attach a defect tag.
  • Ensure all check/maintenance sheets are completed and passed to your Line Manager.
  • Ensure all machinery/equipment is secured at all times when not in use.

Quality & Customer Care

  • Be aware of your tasks, targets, and the required standards each day.
  • Monitor and maintain your work output to a satisfactory level and standard.
  • Conduct yourself in a polite and friendly manner at all times.
  • Ensure all associated administration is completed and returned within required timescales.

Environmental

  • Operate duties in a way that minimises environmental impact, including the safe use of fuels and oils and correct disposal of waste.
  • Ensure any spillages of fuels or chemicals are dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Working Hours & Rota

24 hours per week, scheduled across three days (Friday to Sunday) from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Shifts are 8.5 hours long, which includes a 30‑minute unpaid break, resulting in 8 paid hours per day.

Qualifications

  • Previous knowledge of cleansing, litter collection, and handheld machinery is desirable; full training will be provided.
  • Must hold a full clean UK driving licence.
