Job Overview
HR Advisor – Chorley Head Office (Hybrid). 40 hours per week. £33 k – 35 k DAO.
Accountable for delivering high‑quality people support across a fast‑paced operational environment, leading a broad range of complex employee relations cases in line with policy and employment legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied, high-volume caseload from end to end, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, and long/short‑term sickness absence.
- Support and advise managers on conducting thorough, objective, and timely investigations.
- Prepare and advise line managers to ensure they are clear on how to conduct meetings.
- Coach, train, and build the confidence of line managers to handle both informal & formal ER issues independently and effectively.
- Produce and deliver management development training.
- Analyse data and case metrics to identify workplace trends, advising senior leadership on proactive interventions.
- Assist in the review, development, and implementation of HR policies.
- Accurately maintain ER case tracking and document systems (e. g., HRIS, case trackers) in line with data privacy standards.
- Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Proven track record in an HR or Employee Relations advisory role, with direct experience managing complex casework.
- Sound, up‑to‑date working knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS best practices.
- CIPD Level 5 or 7 qualification (or relevant equivalent degree).
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills. Ability to remain objective, calm under pressure, and handle sensitive data with confidentiality.
