We are looking to appoint a caring, patient, supportive and confident person who is enthusiastic about working with children during their lunch time meal break. This is a crucial role in the life of our school. We are seeking a team player who shows initiative and understands how to manage pupils positively, in a way that makes them feel safe and secure, but which also expects and requires the highest standards of behaviour.
Main duties:
- Help to organise children in the hall, classrooms, outside areas, encouraging good manners and supporting healthy eating.
- Supervise, lead and support play activities.
- Encourage children who are reluctant to participate in lunchtime activities.
- Promote independence and positive behaviour.
- Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of, and responding appropriately to, individual needs.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of all our pupils through the management of pupil behaviour at lunchtimes.
- Deal with minor first aid needs.
- Assist with associated duties (e.g., cleaning up spillages, cleaning tables and ensuring pupil hygiene).
- Follow school policy and procedures and show initiative.
