Danson Primary School has an exciting opportunity to appoint a suitably experienced Inclusion Support Assistant. This person will work as part of a team in managing the provision for vulnerable pupils. This includes the needs of disadvantaged pupils, those with SEND, those who are known (or previously known) to children’s social care and those who may face other barriers to their learning and/or well-being.
The overarching purpose of this role is to promote high quality curriculum and teaching, including adaptive approaches and intervention where needed. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, flexible, well organised and able to work as part of a team as well as having the ability to work alone when required. This role is ideal for candidates currently working in a classroom support position, who have experience of working with vulnerable groups.
Key Responsibilities- Under the guidance of the SENCo support the provision for all vulnerable groups.
- To develop and manage curriculum resources to enhance the progress of learners and ensure that they are used appropriately and efficiently.
- To support the SENCo in managing the implementation of an inclusive curriculum.
- Within the context of the school’s ethos, work with the SENCo to develop and implement intervention groups and support.
- To contribute to provision maps.
- Support access arrangements for pupils during test and assessment times.
This post is a customer-facing position and falls within the scope of the Code of Practice on English Language Requirement for Public Sector Workers. The school has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
