I’m working with a well-established and growing international business operating within the outsourcing and business services sector. The business has been established for almost 20 years, operates across the UK and Europe and has built a strong reputation within its market for compliance, service quality and long-term client relationships. Supporting clients with workforce, payroll and contractor solutions, the business operates within a compliance-led environment. They are now looking to appoint a senior lawyer to lead and shape the legal and compliance function.
This is a genuinely broad and commercially involved role which would suit someone who enjoys being close to the business, improving processes and acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.
The position will involve:
- leadership and oversight of the legal/compliance function
- managing and developing an existing team
- commercial contracts and wider contractual risk management
- advising on regulatory, compliance and governance matters
- supporting operational best practice and process improvement
- managing external counsel where required
- acting as a senior sounding board to the leadership team
They are looking for someone with:
- ideally 10+ years’ PQE
- a broad commercial/generalist background
- previous in-house experience preferred
- strong stakeholder management and leadership capability
- a pragmatic and commercially minded approach
- someone comfortable operating in an office-based environment
This role would suit someone seeking a high-quality part-time opportunity with genuine autonomy and the ability to shape and influence a function over time. There is also potential for the role to evolve as the business continues to grow.
