We are pleased to offer a rare and exciting opportunity for a salaried GP to join our busy, supportive GP Practice. This role offers 4-6 sessions across our two sites with an anticipated start date ASAP subject to the usual checks.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide high quality, patient‑centred general medical services. Clinical work will include a mix of telephone and face‑to‑face consultations, with standard 10‑minute appointments and 20‑minute appointments where interpreters are required. You will assess, diagnose, and manage a broad range of acute and long‑term conditions, supporting continuity of care and appropriate follow‑up. You will work closely with a well‑established multidisciplinary team including GP Partners, ANPs, Pharmacists, Social Prescribers and our Nursing Team with clear pathways for shared care and support. A GP Partner is available every day to provide advice, support and supervision as needed.

Job responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients within General Practice, including consultations, physical examinations, home visits, and diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Develop and implement personalised care plans for patients, taking into consideration their medical history, lifestyle and preferences.
- Manage a varied caseload, including complex and long‑term conditions, and coordinate with specialists and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Promote health education and preventative measures to patients, empowering them to make informed decisions regarding their healthcare.
- Collaborate with the practice team. Referrals should be completed on a daily basis in line with Practice Policy.
- Investigations should be completed and associated documentation dealt with within appropriate timescales. Results are normally communicated either electronically or by letter; you will be expected to act on these on a daily basis.
- Participate in Practice Meetings, case discussions and continuous professional development activities to enhance your clinical knowledge and skills and ensure all mandatory training completed, including responsibilities for Level 3 Safeguarding Adults & Children.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines within the practice.
- Adhere to the National Health Service (NHS) and practice policies and procedures, including Clinical Governance and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain your professional registration and participate in the appraisal and revalidation process as required by the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Foster a positive and supportive working environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration among colleagues.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MBChB or equivalent) and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK.
- Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) or equivalent qualification.
- Full Indemnity Cover.
- Proven experience working as a General Practitioner, ideally within a primary care setting in the UK.
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision‑making skills.
Experience
- Full registration with the General Medical Council.
- MRCGP or equivalent.
- Inclusion on the NHS England Performers list at the point of appointment.
- Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development appropriate to General Practice.
