Are you a ceramics specialist with a passion for innovation and hands-on problem-solving? Parkside Recruitment are looking for a Senior Ceramics Process Engineer to join a cutting-edge team working on R&D projects across nuclear, aerospace, and defence sectors. Based in a state-of-the-art facility in Stone, Staffordshire, this role offers the opportunity to work directly with advanced materials including zirconia, alumina, silicon carbide, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client-facing projects from scope through delivery (project lengths from 1 to 24 months)
- Develop ceramic processes such as pressing, casting, additive manufacturing, and slurry formulation
- Act as a subject matter expert on materials, equipment, and processes
- Guide and mentor junior team members
- Provide expert consultancy and technical documentation
- Present findings to clients, stakeholders, and at industry events
- Support a wide range of industries with cutting-edge materials development
About You
- 5+ years' experience in materials science or advanced ceramics
- Practical knowledge of powder processing, forming, and ceramic manufacturing methods
- Strong communicator, able to manage both technical detail and client relationships
- Experience leading R&D or commercial technical projects
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
- Eligible for UK security clearance (due to defence work)
